Where to refuel on the way to Denmark
From Poland the usual route to Denmark crosses Germany – on the A7 via Flensburg or to the Rostock – Gedser ferry.
- Fill up in Poland before entering Germany – from Szczecin a full tank (about 50 l, roughly 700 km) usually reaches southern Denmark, and from Poznań at least the Danish border.
- If you need fuel in Germany, use ordinary stations or Autohof truck stops at the exits rather than motorway service areas.
- On the way back, compare Denmark with Germany in the table above – if Germany is cheaper, buy only enough to reach the first German station after the border.
Over 700 km through Germany and Denmark, a car using 7 l/100 km spends about €74.55 at Polish prices, €108 at German prices and €128 at Danish prices.
